How to Design Pinterest Graphics That Pay

You have probably read somewhere about the wonders pinterest can do to bring you traffic. Yes it can, but you can’t just post an image and expect it to go viral. This could, of course, happen but it is unlikely. If you have not already read it, I recommend reading my Pinterest Secrets Post so you can learn a bit more about pinterest and how to set up a pin. My cover photo for this post was designed with the same method, you can use this as an example, however a pin would look slightly different as it would be in a different shape.

Colours

The colour of the pin matters, try to make them bright and eye catching but make sure they relate to your content or niche. Because if your ad is about mud bikes, you should use dark colours such as dark blue black and brown not pink purple and yellow.

Font/Text

Make sure you use an easy to read font. Simple ones work the best as you can read them easier and quicker. As well make sure you have big text, so if someone is scrolling through their phone quickly they will be able to read the font and text you have on the pin. Because if they can’t read it quickly, why would they bother trying.

Images/Background

If you are using an image for the background make sure it relates to the blog post topic or niche. I personally recommend that you just use a block colour, and stick with a colour theme for all of your pins. Also make sure the image is quality. I personally don’t see the point in investing in stock photos when you can use sites such as Unsplash and Pixabay for free.

Editing/Putting it all together

To ‘edit’ the image and add the text I use Canva. Canva is a free web programme, that lets you add text to images, stickers to photos and alot more. Canva is the secret to a lot of people viral pins. Because if your pin looks nice, the number of site visitors will to.
