This topic varies depending what stage your blog is at so this could be a longer post. Posting is the most important thing about a blog, no posts not traffic, no posts no likes, no posts no followers, no posts no… ok so you probably get the idea posts are a crucial part of blogging and are what makes blogging blogging, so how often should you post?
If you are a new blogger and so is your blog, you are probably not as experienced as you should be. However, this does not mean you shouldn’t post, as a beginner a short post should take no longer than an hour and no shorter than half an hour, if it takes you 15 minutes to write don’t post it add it on to another post. That is beside the point though, you clicked on this because you are wanting to know how often you should post on your blog. As a beginner on your first 2 weeks you should try to post 4 or 5 blog posts a week, all on separate days I recommend. then as you start to get used to blogging maybe go down to a 3. After 6 weeks you should only be posting twice a week. As well you should make sure you schedule is consistent – posting on the same 2 days each week like I post on tuesday and friday.
If you happen to have had your blog for a long time but less than a year take the last half of th beginners schedule, this is just a recommended backbone for you – try a few weeks of 3 posts a week and then slowly upgrade to just 2. Please not that if you are posting 2 blog posts a week the should be good quality and preferably not outsourced.
If you are a blogging pro, I recommend instantly upgrading to 2 amazing quality posts a week that engage your old readers and also get you new ones to.
